Join The Laurel Cyclery for a casual (but climby) 25 mile ride around West Oakland! We’ll finish at Oaktoberfest, just a mile down the road from the shop, where we’ll eat, drink, and be merry. We’ll have coffee at the start!
Too good not to share
I was totally planning on buying a new chain that same day from The Laurel Cyclery‘s grand opening party! Now I think I’ll need a new chain, a straightened derailleur hanger, new cable, perhaps new spokes, and perhaps a new derailleur. Whoops.
Riley & Keith came in at the same fucking time. Riley was really stoked on the tattoo though
Although they weren’t the first to come in with signed manifests . . . That was Dan
And here’s a little more Mammoth for ya, courtesy of Huckleberry
Stay tuned for more!

Gabe and I rode/wrote the new route this weekend and it’s gonna be a hoot. We’re gonna use the same casual route as in past years (straightfoward coastal with Planet of the Apes, or y’all can choose the tunnel or the newly opened Devil’s Slide multi-use path), for a total of about 55 miles. The race route this year is similar as last year, but with a bit more climbing. All in all it’s about 75 miles with about 7,000 feet of climbing. It’s a hard fucking race. Don’t be a muppet and race it unless you’re a very strong rider.
Q: What kind of bicycle should I ride?
A: A cross bike would be good. Whatever you’re comfortable on would be best.
Below are the bikes that Gabe and I rode the route on and they both worked
And more pictures from the race route
Thanks Huckleberry!
